Here are some suggestions for what you might want to consider before coming to the event.
- Your team leader will have already estimated the amount of time needed to accomplish your volunteer project, so be sure that you are well prepared with water, snacks and food enough to sustain you throughout the project
- Be certain that you have appropriate clothing for both weather and the task you will be doing
- Wear protective gloves, hats and other clothing or eyewear as appropriate for your own safety
- Have your cell phone handy and be sure that all of your team members have the team contact list heading up to the event and during the event
- Be sure that all your friends and family members are well aware in advance of the We Build it Forward event and how important your role is to your team

R.P. Johnson is celebrating their 111th year in business and is sponsoring, for the second year, a community-wide event of bringing volunteers together to help neighbors in need with projects that they cannot do themselves either because they have disabilities, are elderly or have financial needs. The community service related projects should be in the towns surrounding their Andover and Sunapee, NH, stores. Community members may sign up at the April 21st Customer Appreciation Day / 2012 We Build It Forward Community Outreach program kick-off at the Millwork Showcase located on Route 11 in Andover, NH, or sign up online.
Let's make this a great day of giving!
On June 23, 2012, volunteers will convene at the R.P. Johnson & Son's Millwork Showcase in Andover to kick off this one day event and will then disperse into the community to take on the projects to help neighbors in need. Projects may include painting a house, fixing a handi-cap ramp, roofing, porch repairs or yard cleanups.
